Eagles Drop 2-0 Decision at Scranton

Jarrod Gibson took two shots for the Eagles.

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team fell, 2-0 at Scranton in their final game of the season, Saturday afternoon.

Within the first two minutes of the game, Juniata got off their first shot. Bass Diakhoumpa (Dakar, Senegal / Mercersburg Academy) took a shot but it was saved by the Scranton keeper. In the 38th minute, the Eagles took another attempt on the goal, Jarrod Gibson (Abington, Pa. / Abington) took a header shot but it was again saved by the Scranton keeper. The first half was scoreless with the Royals leading in shots, 11-2. 

The Royals got off to a strong start in the second half as they scored four minutes into the half. In the 68th minute, the Eagles tried to even the score with a shot taken by Nick Sinapius (Phoenixville, Pa. / Phoenixville) but the shot went wide. In the 75th minute, Scranton extended their lead, 2-0. Minutes later, Juniata tried to cut the Royals lead. Gibson took a shot but it went wide. 

Jacob Owings (Hanover, Pa. / Littlestown) had eight saves in goal for the Eagles.
