Eagles Draw With Bobcats in Williamsport

Joe Stipe scored his first goal of the year in the 85th minute.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.-The Juniata men's soccer team walked away with a 1-1 draw at Penn College, Wednesday evening.

The first half of the match was a battle in the midfield as the teams did not get many shots off. Juniata held a 3-1 edge in shots, but the lone Wildcat shot was only shot of the half that was on frame. Jacob Owings (Hanover, Pa. / Littlestown) managed to keep the game at 0-0 with a save.

10 minutes into the second half, the Wildcats scored off loose ball in the box to go up 1-0. It was a back and forth affair as both teams started to get shots off.

Five minutes from the final whistle, Joe Stipe (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) managed to put the ball into the back of the net for JC to knot the score at 1-1.

The teams went through two overtimes, but neither team could find a winner as the teams remained even after 110 minutes.

JC ended with a 14-8 edge in shots. Each team had six corners in the game. Juniata had three in the second extra period, but couldn't manage to convert one.

The Eagles return to action at Catholic, Saturday at 1:00.
