Tristan Moore scored his first career goal a minute into the game.

ALTOONA, Pa.-The Juniata men's soccer team got back in the win column with a 2-1 win at Penn State Altoona on a rainy Thursday evening at Spring Run Stadium.

One minute into the contest, Nathan Woods (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) crossed the ball into the box to Tristan Moore (Westminster, Md./Westminster) who ripped a shot that beat the keeper to give JC a 1-0 lead.

The Eagles managed to block most of the lion shots in the first half, as Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) made his lone save of the half in the 28thminute. Juniata went into the half with a 1-0 lead.

The numbers were fairly even as JC held a narrow 7-6 edge in shots while the Lions held a 2-1 edge in corners.

The Eagles came out looking to build their lead early in the second half as Jarrod Gibson (Abington, Pa./Abington) and Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa./Shipley) both forced the Lion keeper to make saves inside the opening seven minutes. In the 56thminute Jacob Grove (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin HS) was fouled in the box; Bass Diakhoumpa (Dakar, Senegal/Mercersburg Academy) took the proceeding penalty and slotted it into the right corner to make it 2-0.

Penn State Altoona got one back in the 73rd minute on a shot from outside the box that tucked into the top right corner. The Eagles managed to prevent the Lions from many more opportunities. But in the 89thminute Matt Mottershead (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) had to make a save on a header to preserve the win.

The Eagles will travel to Elizabethtown, Saturday at 1:00.
