Greyhounds Tally Two in the Second Half to Edge Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.-The Juniata men's soccer team dropped their conference opener to Moravian, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium. 

Juniata's first solid chance of the first half was when Matt Matylewicz (York, Pa./Central York) latched on to a corner and headed it towards goal, but a Moravian defender knocked it wide of goal. 

In the 29thminute, Bass Diakhoumpa (Dakar, Senegal/Mercersburg Academy) was first to a loose ball in the box and smashed it into the right corner of the goal to give JC a 1-0 lead. 

The Eagles went into the locker room with a 1-0 lead. 

In the 69thminute, the Greyhounds pulled even with a strike from about 14 yards out. Nine minutes later, they found a winner via a free kick from about 20 yards out. 

Jacob Owings (Hanover, Pa./Littlestown) made three saves in net. 

The Eagles return to action Thursday at Penn St. Altoona. Kickoff is at 6:00.
