Men's Soccer Tabbed Eighth in Landmark Preseason Poll

Men's soccer preseason poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata men's soccer team was selected eighth in this season's Landmark Conference preseason poll.

Drew finished in first with seven first place votes with Elizabethtown in second. Catholic slotted in third and Scranton in fourth. 

Seniors, Charlie Jones (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest), Matt Matylewicz (York, Pa. / Central York), and Nathan Woods (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) will look to lead the Eagles. Jones played in 15 games and started in six last season, Matylewicz started in 18 games and totaled a goal and an assist, and Woods appeared in 18 games while starting in five. 

Junior, Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa. / Shipley) was the leading scorer for the Eagles last season totaling five goals while sophomore Jacob Grove (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin HS) was second on the team in scoring with four goals. Junior goalie, Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) appeared in 12 games last season while starting in nine and he recorded 40 saves while in goal. 

Other returning juniors include, Andrew Onofrey (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg), Johnny King (York Springs, Pa. / Bermudian Springs), Matt Hulsebosch (Lansing, N.Y. / Lansing), and Jarrod Gibson (Abington, Pa. / Abington). Among the returning sophomores, Charlie Kovach (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) and Joe Stipe (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) each scored a goal last season. Other returning sophomores include, Logan Storti (Elverson, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts), Jack Steinmayer (Wayne, Pa. / Phelps School), Michael Realbuto (Collegeville, Pa. / Methacton), Jacob Owings (Hanover, Pa. / Littlestown), Max Muller (Hummelstown, Pa. / Central Dauphin HS), Tristan Moore (Westminster, Md. / Westminster), Colin Daly (Camp Hill, Pa. / Camp Hill), and Wyatt Bromley (Johnstown, Pa. / Forest Hills)

The Eagles will kick off their season Friday, August 31st at 8:00 pm. They will face Allegheny at home.
