HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team fell to Penn College, 3-0, in nonconference action on a rainy Wednesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.

Jacob Owings (Hanover, Pa./Littlestown) made four saves in the first half while Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) entered in the second half and made four saves of his own.

Charlie Kovach (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) had the first opportunity for the Eagles; firing a shot from the left, just outside of the 18, but the keeper knocked it down and fell on it.

In the 8th minute, Jacob Grove (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) played quick give and go with Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa./Shipley) playing him in on goal. Grove's shot was deflected by the keeper, Kovach got to the ball and blasted it back towards net but a Penn College defender blocked it.

The Wildcats scored goals in the 20th and 28th minute to quickly take control of the game. Juniata continued to battle, and with three minutes remaining in the half Jarrod Gibson (Abington, Pa./Abington) curled a shot towards goal but the Wildcat keeper managed to stop it. Juniata went into the half trailing 2-0.

Four minutes into the second half, Page played in a free kick from the left side low and towards the far post that Charlie Jones (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) got a head to put it went wide of the net.

Later on in the 66th minute, Michael Realbuto (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) received the ball at the 18 from the right side, turned, and played Kovach in on goal but his shot flew over the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Matt Matylewicz (York, Pa./Central York) rose above the scrum on a corner and headed the ball towards goal but it went just over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, the Wildcats scored on an Eagle error to push their lead to 3-0.

Juniata returns to action, Saturday, against Scranton. Game time is 4:00.
