Eagles Fall to River Hawks

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team conceded two second half goals to Susquehanna as they fell, 2-0, Wednesday evening at Sassafras Fields.

Less than three minutes into the game, Gabe Duran (Temple, Pa./Oley Valley) headed a ball towards net, but the Susquehanna keeper stopped it. In the 28th minute Matt Matylewicz (York, Pa./Central York) fired a shot towards goal, but it went high. The teams went into the half tied 0-0.

Johnny King (York Springs, Pa./Bermudian Springs) had the first scoring opportunity of the second half but his shot went over the goal. The River Hawks took the lead in the 55th minute via a header on a corner. In the 66th minute, Achim Schwemmlein (NRW, Germany) ripped a shot towards goal, but again the River Hawk keeper managed to stop it.  Susquehanna tallied another goal in the 72nd minute on a breakaway to ice the game.

Susquehanna outshot the Eagles 17-6 and held a 6-3 edge in corners.

The Eagles will play at #24 ranked Drew, Saturday at 4:00.
