Eagles Draw With Bearcats

LATROBE, Pa. - The Juniata College men's soccer team had their second 1-1 double-overtime draw of the year, this time at Saint Vincent College, Tuesday afternoon on the SVC turf.

The Bearcats got on the board first, scoring 21 minutes into the game. The goal seemed to wake the Eagles up as they quickly responded.

Three minutes later, the ball was played into the Saint Vincent box via a free kick. Matt Matylewicz (York, Pa./Central York) knocked the ball out of the air and Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa./Shipley) blasted it home to tie the game.

Both teams had shots on frame but couldn't score as the teams went into the half tied 1-1.

The second half was all Juniata as the Eagles held a decisive edge in shots, 9-1. The Bearcats goalie had to make several saves to keep the score level through regulation.

In the first OT, the Bearcats took the only two shots but the Eagles dominated the second as they got five shots off. Neither team managed to convert so the game ended in a draw.

"The team played well and stuck together well, we are excited to play Saturday, "said head coach Dan Dubois after the game.

Juniata returns to action at home against King's, Saturday at 7:30.
