HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata men's soccer team drew with Waynesburg, 1-1, Friday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
What Happened: The Eagles started off a bit slow, getting pinned in their own half of the field before Juniata started to take control. Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa./Shipley) scored one goal unassisted and almost scored another. In the 50th minute, Wayesburg tied things back up in the 50th minute. The Eagles had gotten away from their plan and Waynesburg punished Juniata for the mistake, tying the score at 1-1.
The next forty minutes were a battle with both teams getting good looks but not being able to score.
Overtime: Waynesburg had a grip on the first overtime and came close to ending the game multiple times. The Yellow Jackets came close in overtime but an excellent save by Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) kept the draw.
