Men's Soccer Selected Eighth in Landmark Conference Preseason Poll

The Landmark Conference released their Men's Soccer Poll and Juniata was selected eighth. 

Scranton finished in first with five first place votes with Elizabethtown in second with three first place votes. Drew slotted in third and Catholic and Moravian tied for fourth.

Achim Schwemmlein (NRW, Germany) and Gabe Duran (Temple, Pa./Oley Valley) will look to lead a young Eagles team that will see some new faces on the field. Three juniors return including Charlie Jones (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) who played in every game last season. Matt Matylewicz (York, PA/Central York) played in 12 games while starting three and Nathan Woods (Huntingdon, PA/Huntingdon Area) came off the bench in eight contests last season for Juniata.

Sophomores Jarrod Gibson (Abington, Pa./Abington) and Wyatt Page (King of Prussia, Pa./Shipley) were third and fourth last season in scoring, respectively. Joining them Is Tim Visser (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) who appeared in 17 games while starting nine of them and Kuba Kreciglowa (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Central) who appeared in 15 games and started 10. Jacob Halfman (East Berlin, Pa./Bermudian Springs) saw action in 13 games last year and Matt Hulsebosch (Lansing, N.Y./Lansing) saw the field in 12 games. Jeremy Sawey (Renoldsville, Pa./Dubois Area) played in six games while making a start and Andrew Onofrey (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) appeared in seven games while making a start.

Three sophomore keepers return including Logan Tackett (Herndon, Va./Herndon) who made 11 starts.  Andrew Yeich started four games (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) while Ben Forgas (Manassas, Va./C.D. Hylton) made three. starts

 

Juniata will open the season at home, Friday at 8:00 against Waynesburg.
