The Eagles Fell 3-0 in the Final Game of 2016

THE STORY: Despite Logan Tackett's nine saves, Juniata fell 3-0 to Elizabethtown during their final game of the 2016 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Blue Jays got on the board early with a header goal in the second minute of the game. The Eagles were able to get off two unsuccessful shots, one by Steven Stroup (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) and one by Steven Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland). However, Elizabethtown regained possession and tacked on another in the 28th minute.

The Blue Jays came out strong in the second half, outshooting Juniata 6-2 until capitalizing on an opportunity and scoring in the 62nd minute.

INSIDE THE BOX: Dani Meyer-Arrivillaga (Durham, N.C./Carolina Friends) led the offense with three shots, one on goal. Stroup was the other Eagle that marked a shot on goal.

Elizabethtown recorded ten shots in the first and 13 in the second, totaling 23 to Juniata's six shots.

BETWEEN THE POSTS: Tackett (Herndon, Va./Herndon) saved nine on 13 shots on goal. He saved four in the first half and five in the second.

THE RECORD: Juniata finished the season 4-14 overall and 1-6 in conference play. Their conference win came in a 3-1 against Goucher on Sept. 24 at home. The Eagles scored 21 goals throughout the season. Stroup and Meyer-Arrvillaga lead the team in six goals each.
