Men's Soccer Held Scoreless Against Catholic

THE STORY: Catholic defeated the Eagles 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 1, putting Juniata at 1-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Cardinals came out strong, marking seven shots in the first 15 minutes of play. In the 16th minute, they got on the board with a header in the box. Catholic maintained their 1-0 lead going into halftime. After the half, the Eagles threatened with three shots, two on goal. However, the Cardinals were the first to get one in the net after the half. They scored in the 79th minute and the 82nd minute to extend their lead 3-0.

INSIDE THE BOX: Catholic tallied 28 shots, while Juniata marked six. Steven Stroup (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) led the offense with two shots, one on goal. Taylor Golemboski (Philipsburg, Pa./Philips-Osceola) and Jarrod Gibson (Abington, Pa./Abington) followed with one shot on goal each.

BETWEEN THE POSTS: Logan Tackett (Herndon, Va./Herndon) played in goal for the full 90 minutes, earning four saves.
