Roanoke Shuts Out Juniata in Day Two of the Lynchburg Tournament

Lynchburg, Va. -- On day two of the Lynchburg Shellenberger Memorial Tournament, No. 2 Roanoke defeats the Juniata men's soccer team 4-0.

Freshman Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Eagles, earning his first start of his college career. Of Roanoke's 11 shots on goal, Yeich saved seven. He now has tallied ten saves and a .588 overall save percentage.

The game was scoreless at half, as all four goals were scored in the second half of the game.

The Eagles' offense could only get three shots off of the Maroons' defense. Taylor Golemboski (Philipsburg, Pa./Philips-Osceola) took the first shot for Juniata in the 37th minute, but missed wide. Dani Meyer-Arrivillaga (Durham, N.C./Carolina Friends) and Gabe Duran (Temple, Pa./Oley Valley) also got off one shot each.

The Eagles, now 1-4, will play their next game at home in Gibbel Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. against Lycoming.
