Landmark Announces Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Landmark Conference announced its 2016 Men's Soccer Preseason Poll on Tuesday morning. Juniata was picked eighth.

Despite the prediction, 10th year head coach Dan Dubois does not see the season ending that way. "Being picked eighth makes sense based off of what happened last year," he said. "The focus of our season is to put ourselves in a better position. Our goal is to push for a playoff spot."

The Eagles bring in 12 freshman players into the fold this year. They join 15 returners which includes eight seniors led by 2015 Landmark Second Teamer Dani Meyer-Arrivillaga (Durham, N.C./Carolina Friends.

Dubois sees his upperclassmen's leadership as a strength for the team. "The drive that we have from our returning four is going to be what makes us mentally tough enough to be competitive," Dubois stated. "I'm confident that we have that mental toughness this year."

Juniata starts its 2016 season this Friday against Geneva. Game time will be at 4:00 p.m.
