Men’s soccer team slated for seventh on Landmark poll

HUNTINGDON, PA. – Juniata College men's soccer was chosen to finish the 2012 season at No. 7 on the Landmark Conference preseason poll released Thursday. 

The Eagles collected 14 points in the poll, just four points behind No. 6 Goucher College and beating out No. 8 Moravian who chalked-up just eight points in the voting. 

Catholic University of America took first on the poll with 67 points and six first place votes, followed by The United States Merchant Marine Academy with one first-place vote and 44 points. Drew came in at no. 3 on the poll with 43 points and one first-place vote.

The University of Scranton and Susquehanna were only separated by two points, with Scranton edging out the Crusaders in the voting for fourth place. 

Juniata finished its 2011 season with a 5-8-2 overall record and a 1-6 mark in the Landmark, and will begin the 2012 season against Pitt.-Greensburg at Winton Hill Field at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 31.
