Warriors Surge Past Eagles

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata Men's Lacrosse team hosted the Lycoming College Warriors at Gibbel Stadium on Wednesday and lost by a final score of 17-5.

Junior midfielder Reuben Stoll opened the scoring for the Eagles in the first period after Lycoming started the game with two goals of their own. After Stoll's goal, the Warriors opened up a 6-1 lead. 

Junior defenseman Charlie Newman and senior attacker Kolton Black each added Juniata goals in the second period to bring the game to 6-3. Lycoming then surged forward again to give themselves an 8-3 lead heading into the halftime break. Freshman midfielder Casey Cappasola scored his first career goal and the Eagles' lone goal in the third period to bring the game to 11-4 with fifteen minutes remaining.

In the final period, Lycoming continued to score, winning 6-1 for a 17-5 final score. Stoll added his second goal of the night in the fourth period for the Eagles.

Junior goalie Ryan Madison made 15 saves between the pipes while Cappasola added the Eagle's only assist on the night.

The Eagles will fall to 2-12 on the season and 0-6 in conference play.

Juniata will return to play on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to host the Catholic University of America Cardinals in their home finale. Following the matchup against the Cardinals, the Eagles will travel to Elizabethtown College and Drew University to close out their season.
