Eagles Fall to Gophers with Four Games Remaining

Baltimore, MD.- The Juniata Men's Lacrosse team traveled to face the Goucher University Gophers on Saturday and fell by a final score of 17-2.  

The Gophers started out strong and took a 4-0 lead before junior midfielder Vincent Bechler opened the scoring for the Eagles on a goal late in the first period to make it 4-1.  

Goucher continued scoring in the second, extending their lead to nine goals at 10-1 heading to the halftime break. The Eagles were unable to respond in the third period, but junior defenseman Charlie Newman scored early in the fourth period on an assist from senior attacker Kolton Black. The loss brings them to 2-11 overall and 0-5 in conference play.  

Junior goalie Ryan Madison got another start between the pipes and made six saves on the day.  

The Eagles will move on to host Lycoming College on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
