River Hawks Conquer Eagles in Conference Matchup

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Juniata Men's Lacrosse team traveled to face the Susquehanna River Hawks on Wednesday in a marquee rivalry matchup and fell short by a final score of 19-4.

Sophomore attacker Beaux Wojciechowski started hot, scoring an unassisted goal just two minutes and nine seconds into the contest to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead. For the first half, it was all Susquehanna from there as they scored eight unanswered goals before the halftime break, two of which came on man-up situations. 

Facing an 8-1 deficit at the start of the third period, the Eagles struggled to get back into the game despite two goals from junior Charlie Newman and one from senior attacker Kolton Black. Newman scored his first in the third period while his second followed Black's goal in the fourth period. Assists came from Wojciechowski and junior midfielder Vincent Bechler. Susquehanna continued their scoring dominance throughout the second half, scoring nine more unanswered goals between the third and fourth period. The game ended by a final score of 19-4 in favor of Susquehanna.

Junior goalie Ryan Madison started between the pipes and made 10 saves on the day.

The Eagles will fall to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play. They will look to bounce back at Goucher University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m with five matches left on the schedule.
