State College, Pa. - The Juniata men's golf team finished in ninth place at the Pennsylvania Classic after two rounds at the Penn State Blue and White courses. Day two featured rainy conditions in which Juniata rose in the tournament standings.
Ben Pintof had a solid round shooting a team best 75 and finished the tournament T23. Pintof made a quick tap-in birdie on his third hole after sticking his approach shot to two feet. Kamden Clapper turned in a 77 of his own, draining a 25-foot birdie putt on his 16th hole to cap off a team-best three birdies during his second round. Clapper's 77 was good enough to put him at T31 on the leaderboard after a consistent showing. Harrison Levithan finished T36 after finishing with an 82 in what proved to be harsh conditions in the rain in State College. He capped off the wet round with a 15-foot birdie on hole nine, his 17th hole of the day after a shotgun start. Ethan Brown carded an 86 in the rain putting him at T77 through two days in State College. Brown shined through holes one through four, making four straight pars in what is considered one of the hardest stretches on the course. Eric Soccio put up an 89 to put him in a tie for 87th place. Soccio demonstrated impressive distance off the tee while continuing to make multiple putts from over 10 feet.
Colin Wible played as an individual shooting 82 enroute to a T64 finish after two days at his home course in State College. The homegrown player shined through his first ten holes with two birdies.
Juniata men's golf returns to action April 4th at the E-Town Spring Invitational hosted at the Hershey Country Club.
