Men's Golf Hold Tenth at Day One of Pennsylvania Classic

STATE COLLEGE, Pa.- The Juniata men's golf team kicked off the spring leg of the 2023-24 season with day one of the Penn State Altoona Pennsylvania Classic from the Penn State Blue & White Course, a par 71 course. 

Harrison Levithan had the team's best individual performance, going six over with a score of 77 to tie for 24th. He went +3 on the front nine and back nine, with a streak of five-straight pars from the fifth through the ninth. Ben Pintof shot 80 to tie for 41st, with his day highlighted by a birdie on the par-five third hole and a run of five consecutive pars from the sixth through the tenth. Kamden Clapper posted an 81 and stands tied for 48th, while Ethan Brown concluded the team score with an 83 and is tied for 62nd. Eric Soccio also competed and finished the day with an 86, putting him in a tie for 76th. 

Colin Wible also competed but was not among the scoring five. He shot 83 on the day, including a birdie on the third hole, and is tied for 62nd. 

Juniata ended the day in tenth place out of 18 competitors, sitting +37 at 321. A strong performance tomorrow could allow them to jump up the leaderboard sizably, with fifth place currently nine strokes ahead with 312.  

The Juniata men's tennis team returns to the Blue & White Course tomorrow to conclude the Pennsylvania Classic.
