Men's Golf Opens Spring in Day One of Cardinal Spring Classic

HAGERSTOWN, Md.- The Juniata men's golf team opened the spring leg of the 2022-23 season with day one of the Catholic-hosted Cardinal Spring Classic at the par 72 Black Rock Golf Course. 

Kamden Clapper, Caden Hendrickson, Connor Krisko, Ethan Brown, and Jake Matchock competed as part of the scoring team for Juniata, while Larry Singer and Colby Starr competed as individual scorers in the tournament.

 Clapper and Hendrickson led the way for the Eagles with a score of 78, going +6 and tying for 35th overall. Clapper went +2 on the front nine and opened the day with an eagle on hole one and a birdie on hole two. Hendrickson was stronger on the back nine, going +2 with a birdie on the 12th. Krisko and Brown tied for 46th place with scores of 81 to round out scoring for the Eagles. Krisko found a birdie on the first hole. Matchock scored a 90 on the day, tying for 60th and also scoring a birdie on the first.  

Singer finished tied for 52nd with a score of 82, while Starr tied for 60th with a score of 90.  

Juniata finished the day as a team in 11th. 

The Eagles return to the Black Rock Golf Course tomorrow for day two of the Cardinal Spring Classic.
