Martinazzi Named Landmark's Men's Basketball Senior Scholar Athlete

TOWSON, Md.- Juniata College men's basketball standout Brandon Martinazzi (Cresson, Pa. / Bishop Carroll) has been named the Landmark's men's basketball senior scholar athlete.

The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and sports information directors. They are chosen at the end of each sport season. 

Martinazzi is the third Eagle to garner the Senior Scholar Athlete award, and second straight recipient. He joins Brian Scholly (2014) and former teammate Marcus Lee, who received the honor last year. 

Recently, Martinazzi was named to the Landmark All-Conference second team, received Landmark Academic Honor Roll honors and was named a Landmark Athlete of the Week this season. The senior guard started in all 25 games for the Eagles, totaling 817 minutes. Martinazzi was third in the Landmark in points per game (16.4) and was fourth in the conference in points (409) and field goals (156-333). Martinazzi also led the team in total points, free throws (69-96) and was second on the team in 3-pointers with 28-79. Earlier this season, Martinazzi notched his 1,000 career point (12/7/18). 

On the court, Martinazzi has played in 107 games and started in 77 of them over his four-year career. He has recorded 1,302 points and has played a total of 2,960 minutes. This season he was first on the team in points with 409 and first in field goals with 156. He is also first on the team in free throws (69) and assists (79). 

Academically, Martinazzi has a 3.88 cumulative GPA and has twice appeared on the Landmark Academic Honor Roll. His P.O.E. is Biology/Pre-Med.
