Men's Basketball Picked Sixth in Landmark Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata men's basketball team is slated to finish sixth in the Landmark Conference preseason poll after ending the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 23-6.

Juniata received 28 points in the poll, seating them behind Susquehanna (38), Catholic (40), Scranton (44), Drew (49), and Moravian (70). The Eagles sit ahead of Elizabethtown and Goucher. 

Top retuners for the Eagles are seniors, Brandon Martinazzi (Cresson, Pa. / Bishop Carroll) and Paul Martello (York, Pa. / York Catholic). Martinazzi started in all 29 games for the Eagles last season. He averaged 11.6 points per game, recording a season high 22 points against Mt. Aloysius (11/17). Martinazzi finished the season with 86 assists and 30 steals. Martello appeared in all 29 games for Juniata last season. He averaged eight points per game, recording a season high 16 points against Catholic (1/27). Martello finished the season with 47 assists and 33 steals. 

The Eagles tip off their season on November 13th as they host Lycoming at 7:00PM.
