Men's Basketball Receives Academic Honors from NABC

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced the 2017-18 NABC Honors Court, recognizing those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season. The NABC also announced the sixth annual Team Academic Excellence Awards. These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season.

Marcus Lee (Carrolltown, Pa. / Bishop Carroll), Seth Brewer (Lancaster, Pa. / Manheim Township), Brandon Martinazzi (Cresson, Pa. / Bishop Carroll), and Jake Holsopple (Hollidaysburg, Pa. / Hollidaysburg) were named to the Honors Court for their individual success academically this past season. 

In order to be named to the Honor Court, a student athelte had to meet the following qualifications: 

1.Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player. 

2.Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year. 

3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.

4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach. 

In order to be one of the teams on the Team Academic Excellence Award list, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season.
