Curley Named Coach of the Year, Brewer Named Defensive Player of the Year, Two Eagles Named to Landmark All-Conference

TOWSON, Md.- The Landmark Conference released its end of the year awards and the Juniata men's basketball team received several honors. Seth Brewer (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) was named Defensive Player of the Year and made the All-Conference First Team. Marcus Lee (Carrolltown, Pa./ Bishop Carroll) joined Brewer on the first team. Head coach Greg Curley and his staff (Brian Scholly 14' & Keith Black) earned Landmark Coaching Staff of the Year.

This is Brewer's first appearance on the all-conference team. He was second on the team in scoring at 13.2 points per game, third in the conference in field goal percentage (56.7%), third in the Landmark in three-point percentage (47.4%) and a conference-best 86.9% from the foul line. His 118 assists ranked third in the conference and his 3.19 assist to turnover ratio is 13th best in the nation. He was also tasked with guarding the other team's best guard most of the time.

Lee makes his third straight appearance on the all-conference first team. He was second in the conference scoring at 19.3 points per game. His 65.5% field goal percentage is ninth-best in the country and second-best in the Landmark. His 28 blocks were good for fifth.

This is Curley's third Coach of the Year honor and second in the Landmark. He led the Eagles to the best season in program history. The Eagles had the best start ever as they won three regular season tournaments on their way to a 12-0 start. The team earned its first ever national ranking, appearing at #23 in the D3hoops.com national rankings. The team finished the regular season tied atop the conference and a tiebreaker gave them the one seed in the Landmark Conference Championships. Their 21 regular season wins were the most ever in program history. The team had one of the best scoring defenses in the country, currently ranks atop the country in field goal percentage and has the 15th best scoring margin in nation. The Eagles were also finalists in the Landmark Championships. 

The Eagles are the #1 overall team in the ECAC tournament and will host Arcadia in the first round today at 7:00.
