Eagles Remain Unbeaten with 81-59 Win Over W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa.- The Juniata men's basketball team traveled westward to Washington, Pa. for a non-conference tilt with Washington and Jefferson on Tuesday night. The Eagles led from start to finish as they won 81-59 over the Presidents to improve their record to 4-0 on the season.

 

It was a four-point game, 18-14, with 9:03 remaining in the first half when JC mounted a 15-4 run to go ahead 33-18 with 3:48 to play in the half. Juniata led 38-24 at halftime.

 

The Eagles maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half and led by as much as 26 points, 54-28, at the 15:11 mark after going on a 10-0 run.  Three Eagles reached double figures led by Kyle Koehler's (Chester Springs, Pa./Devon Prep) 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Dennis Fisher (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) added 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots. Marcus Lee (Carrolltown, Pa./Bishop Carroll) contributed 10 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Seth Brewer (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) scored nine points and dished out five assists

 

JC dominated in the paint with a 48-28 advantage. Once again, the bench made big contributions with 25 points led by Brandon Martinazzi (Cresson, Pa./Bishop Carroll) and Trevor Clune's (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) eight points.

 

Juniata returns to the hardwood next Sunday when they play on the road against Marymount (Va.). Game time will be at 3 p.m.
