HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata field hockey celebrated Senior Day Saturday evening at Knox Stadium during Homecoming and Family Weekend. The Eagles fell to the Greyhounds 1-0, getting outshot 15-8 on the night. Brittney McMullen made five saves in goal.
In the first quarter, Colleen Creneti took a shot after turning around a defender when receiving the ball from a penalty corner. The shot was saved by a Greyhound defender, and Lillian Case slammed the rebounded ball back toward the net, but it went wide. Creneti had another shot a minute later from a corner play, but it was blocked.
The Eagles couldn't find a shot in the second quarter.
The Greyhounds found the back of the net in the third quarter during a corner play, while Juniata could only get two shots, one coming from Tess Ledeboer, but it was blocked by a Moravian defender.
The Eagles held the Greyhounds at only one goal throughout the fourth, with Creneti making a defensive save from a penalty corner play.
The Eagles wrap up their season at Elizabethtown on Wednesday, October 25, at 7:00 p.m.
