River Hawks Tally Three to Defeat Eagles

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team lost on the road at Susquehanna University, 3-0, Wednesday evening at Sassafras Field. 

In the seventh minute, a shot from the right side of the circle ended up in the left corner of the Eagle cage to put SU up 1-0.

Midway through the second quarter, SU doubled their lead following a corner when they sneaked a ball in at the near post.

The River Hawks held a 13-0 edge in shots and an 8-0 advantage in penalty corners at the break.

They found their final goal in the opening two minutes of the fourth quarter when they attacked down the left wing, crossed the ball, and tapped it in at the back post. 

Brittney McMullen made eight saves in goal for the Eagles, while Isabella Stranick made two defensive saves. 

Juniata will host Moravian for Senior Day Saturday at 4:30.
