TCNJ Grounds Eagles

EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J.- The Juniata field hockey team dropped a 7-1 decision on the road at #11 The College of New Jersey, Sunday afternoon at the TCNJ Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

The Eagles battled in the first quarter as they limited TCNJ to four shots, but the Lions were effective with their shooting as they tallied two goals. The hosts turned it up in the second quarter, and Amanda Puza stood tall after entering in the second quarter as she made eight saves and only allowed one goal.

Juniata trailed 3-0 at the half.

TCNJ scored a little under two minutes into the third. Brooke Franke scored the lone Eagle goal in the 43rdminute to break the shutout. Juniata took four shots in the third quarter.

TCNJ broke out with three more goals in the fourth to stop any thoughts Juniata had of a comeback.

Puza made 12 saves in goal for JC.

Juniata will travel to take on Dickinson, Wednesday at 4:00.
