Field Hockey Falls to Lebanon Valley in ECAC Semifinal

ANNVILLE, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team ended their season at Lebanon Valley in the ECAC semifinal, Saturday, falling 1-0.

Juniata controlled the ball in the first quarter of the game. Seven minutes into the first quarter the Eagles took a penalty corner and Hannah Moore (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) fired a shot but it went wide to the right. Seconds later, Juniata was awarded another corner but they were unable to get a shot off. 

In the 22nd minute, after a corner, Lebanon Valley scored to lead, 1-0. The Dutchmen controlled the third quarter as they took eight shots and were awarded eight penalty corners. In the 47th minute, the Eagles took their second shot of the game but it was saved by the LVC goalie. 

Nicole Piccioni (Richfield, Pa. / Midd-West) made five saves in goal for the Eagles. 

Catherine Lanigan (Parsippany, N.J. / Parsippany HS) and Moore were both named to the all-tournament team for their strong play in the Eagle's two games.  

The Eagles end their season with a 10-10 record overall.
