HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team defeated Misericordia, 1-0 at Knox Stadium on a chilly evening.

Juniata was dominate the first half as they took six shots and held Misericordia to zero. The Eagles opened up the shooting in the fourth minute as as Grace Kuszmaul (Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown) took a shot from the middle after a corner. Kuszmaul's shot was blocked by Misericordia. In the second quarter the Eagles scored the lone goal of the game. After a corner, Grace Woolway (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) passed the ball from the right side of the arch to Catherine Lanigan (Parsippany, N.J. / Parsippany HS) who tapped in the ball into the left side of the goal. 

The Eagles started off the shooting in the third quarter as Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) took a shot after a corner but the ball went wide. Juniata tried to extend their lead in the 57th minute after another Juniata corner, G. Alexander fired a shot but it went wide just past the goal. 

The Eagles led the Cougars in shots 8-3 and held a 7-1 advantage in corners. 

Juniata gets back in Landmark Conference action this Saturday as they host Goucher at 1:00 pm.
