BRIDGEWATER, Va.- The Juniata field team earned their first win of the year over Bridgewater College, Friday evening at Jopson Field.
Juniata opened up the game strong as Catherine Lanigan (Parsippany, N.J. / Parsippany HS) scored the Eagles first goal two minutes into the game. Bridgewater got on the board in the second quarter to tie up the game, 1-1.
In the 39th minute, after a corner Juniata took the lead as Kalee Rothermel (Winfield, Pa. / Selinsgrove) assisted Lanigan for their second goal of the game.
Juniata held an 11-5 edge in shots and and an 8-4 advantage in penalty corners.
Juniata returns tomorrow as they take on Eastern Mennonite at 3:00 pm.
