MECHANICSBURG, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team fell, 1-0 to Messiah in overtime, Wednesday evening.
The first half of the game was scoreless for Juniata and Messiah. In the fourth quarter, Grace Kuszmaul (Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown) got a shot off for the Eagles but it went wide. At the end of regulation the game was still scoreless forcing the teams into overtime. A minute into overtime, Messiah scored the game winning goal.
Grace Woolway (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) tallied a defensive save in the contest and Nicole Piccioni (Richfield, Pa. / Midd-West) made seven saves in goal.
The Eagles return to action Friday as they travel to Bridgewater for a 7:00 pm start.
