Eagles Drop 3-0 Decision at York

YORK, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team fell, 3-0 at York College, Sunday afternoon.

York got off to a strong start when they scored their first goal in the first four minutes of the game after a penalty corner. In the first half, Juniata and York went back and forth taking shots but no team was successful. The Eagles took five shots in the first half. 

The Spartans again started off the next half strong when, York scored after a penalty corner. In the 44th minute, Sarah Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa. / Mifflinburg) took a shot for the Eagles but it was saved by the Spartan goalie. In the 52nd minute, the Spartans scored their final goal of the game with a shot from the right side into the left corner. In the 66th minute, Juniata had one last chance at a goal, after a penalty corner, Meredith Shephard (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) took a shot but it was blocked. 

Kylie Edwards (Danville, Pa. / Danville) had three saves in goal. 

The Eagles return to action October 10th as they travel to Susquehanna for a 7:00 PM start.
