Field Hockey Tied for Third in Landmark Preseason Poll

Field hockey preseason poll

TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata field hockey team was selected tied for third in this season's Landmark Conference preseason poll.

Juniata finished tied for third with Elizabethtown, totaling 46 points. They finished one point behind Scranton while Catholic took the number one spot in the poll. The Eagles also received one first place vote.

Juniata brings in a strong set of returners for the upcoming season. Among the returners, the Eagles bring back two second team all-confernce players, Meredith Shephard (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) and Grace Kuszmaul (Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown). Shephard is an all around player who is highly skilled in playing forward, midfield, and back, while Kuszmaul holds down the defensive end of the field and also generates attack on corners. Senior, Kylie Edwards (Danville, Pa. / Danville) brings impressive stats to the season as she has started all four years at Juniata and recorded a season high of 12 saves in the first round of the NCAA's last season.
