Eagles Score Five In Win Over Keuka

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata College field hockey team scored three times in the second half on their way to a 5-1 win over Keuka, Saturday afternoon at Goodman Field. 

Rebecca Waite (Landinberg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) scored two goals and added an assist. Meredith Shepard (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia), Grace Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) and Olivia Marker (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) each tallied one goal. It was the first collegiate goal for both G. Alexandeer and Marker. 

Waite opened the scoring early for the Eagles, getting to a loose ball and sending it past the keeper less than three minutes into the game. Shephard doubled the lead eight minutes later as the Eagles appeared to be running away with the game, but the Wolves would not go away. With just under three minutes until halftime, Keuka got one back to make it 2-1 at halftime.

Four minutes into the second half, Waite tallied her second goal of the game. In the 42nd minute, Waite turned provider as she setup G. Alexander to give Juniata a 4-1 lead. Marker got to a loose ball on the back post and slotted it home seven minutes from the final whistle. 

The Eagles held a 20-7 edge in shots and a 12-1 edge in penalty corners.
