LaFollette’s Two Goals Lead Field Hockey Over Moravian 4-0

THE STORY: Brittani LaFollette (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) scored a pair of goals for Juniata as the Eagles shutout Moravian 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED: Lafollette scored her first goal 5:32 into the first half and added her second goal at 22:26 as Juniata led 2-0 at halftime. Grace Kuszmaul (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) scored on a penalty stroke at 54:46 and less than five minutes later, Meredith Shephard (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) tallied her third goal of the season on an assist from Sara Mills (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe)

 

IN THE CAGE: Kylie Edwards (Danville, Pa./Danville) faced just one shot and had one save in the first half. Santana Mays (Parkton, Md./Hereford) also saw time and did not record a save in 24:17. Jess Gray  (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) faced one shot and had a save in 10:43 of game time

 

OF NOTE: The win was Juniata's fourth in a row and and its sixth in its last seven games. Goucher's loss to Scranton in penalty strokes puts the Eagles in the fourth and final playoff spot in the Landmark with one conference game left.

 

THE RECORD: The Eagles' record improves to 8-8 overall and 3-3 in the Landmark. Moravian falls to 0-14 and 0-6 in the conference.

 

UP NEXT: Juniata returns to Knox Stadium to host Dickinson in a non-conference game on Wednesday. Start time is at 7:00 p.m.
