HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Juniata scored twice early in the first half and that was all it needed as the Eagles defeated Frostburg 2-1 on Wednesday night at Knox Stadium. The win, JC's fifth in its last six games, improves its record to 7-8 overall while the Bobcats drop to 5-11.

It did not take the Eagles long to take the lead. Just 1:44 in, Brittani LaFollette (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) found Sarah Alexander (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) in front of the cage and Alexander hit a shot past Bobcat goalkeeper Jacqueline Glover and in for the 1-0 advantage. Just under six minutes later it was the other way around. Alexander passed to LaFollette in front of the goal and LaFollette skipped a shot past Glover to make it 2-0.

Frostburg got on the board 34 seconds before halftime. Taylor Bowen smashed a shot that bounced off of Elizabeth Davis' stick and past Eagle goalkeeper to cut the Eagle lead to 2-1. It was the first Frostburg goal in nine games.

The Juniata defense held the Bobcats to zero shot attempts in the second half. The Eagles had four shots and two on mark in the second but could not add to its lead as the score stayed the same for the remainder of the contest.
