MADISON, N.J.- Brittani's Lafollette's (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) goal nearly nine and a half minutes into the second half was all Juniata field hockey needed as the Eagles defeated Drew 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The win lifts the Eagles' overall record to 4-7 and gives them their first Landmark Conference win of the season. The Rangers drop to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

For the first time this season, Juniata held their opponent to zero shots. The Eagles totaled nine shots on the afternoon.

The Eagles had their chances in the first half. Juniata was granted five straight penalty corners in less than six minutes of game time but could not get off a shot. JC had shot attempts by Montana Utz (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and Rebecca Waite (Landenburg, Pa./Avon Grove) with both being turned away.

Juniata pounded away at the Drew zone early in the second half. Lafollette received the ball at midfield and raced past a Ranger defender down toward the cage. She fired a long and low shot from the right side that went to the far side of the goal and in for the score.

Kylie Edwards (Danville, Pa./Danville) got the start in the cage and for the second straight game did not face a single shot. Her counterpart from Drew Ryann Callaghan had three saves. Michele Pozcyc had a defensive save for the Rangers.

The Eagles next head to Selinsgrove on Wednesday to play Susquehanna. Game time will be at 7:00 p.m.
