HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team knew they had a tall task ahead of them as they hosted #3 Messiah on Wednesday night at Knox Stadium. The Eagles held the Falcons to one goal in the first half but Messiah was too much as it tacked on two scores in the second half on its way to a 3-0 win.

The Falcons had seven total shots in the first half with only four of those coming on goal. Goalkeeper Kylie Edwards (Danvile, Pa./Danville) was able to come up with three saves but let one shot get by in the 29th minute.

Messiah quickly made it a 2-0 just 1:21 into the second frame. The Falcons added their third score in the 53rd minute.

Edwards played all 70 minutes in the cage. She came up with five saves.

Juniata travels to York on Saturday to play the Spartans in the first of four games away from Knox Stadium. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
