Bilheimer, Leibelsperger Named Landmark Athletes of the Week

TOWSON, Md.- The Landmark Conference on Monday announced its Athletes of the Week in field hockey. Seniors Sarah Bilheimer (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) and Kelsey Leibelsperger (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.

Bilheimer played an integral part in both of Juniata's wins this past week. She scored the game-tying goal against Scranton and later assisted on the winning goal in a 2-1 overtime victory. She also had the game-winning goal versus Washington and Jefferson in a 2-0 Eagle win. On the season, she has nine goals and seven assists that lead the team. She is second in the conference in goals scored and leads in assists. Nationally, she ranks 15th in assists per game.

Leibelsperger was part of a tough Juniata defense that only surrendered one goal all week. The Eagles gave up just one goal to Scranton and held the Royals to just one shot in the second period and none in overtime. Against W&J, Juniata held the Presidents off of the scoreboard for its second shutout of the season.

The Eagles are 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the Landmark. They will host Moravian this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Knox Stadium.
