CHANDLER, AZ- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association in conjunction with Gladiator Custom Mouthguards released its National Academic Squad earlier today. The squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year. 13 members of the Juniata Field Hockey were selected.

The members of the 2014-15 squad representing Juniata are:

Tori Buser (Allentown, PA/Parkland)

Alison Groft (Hanover, PA/ South Western)

Kelsey Leibelsperger (Fleetwood, PA/Fleetwood)

Megan Martin (Cumberland, RI/Cumberland)

Shelby Miller (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts)

Sarah More (Wilmington, DE/Mount Pleasant)

Molly Nowell (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim)

Elise Onjack (Bangor, PA/Bangor Area)

Melissa Rutherford (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville)

Kortney Showers (Aspers, PA/Biglerville)

Rachel Weigel (Duncannon, PA/Susquenita)

Buser, Miller, and Showers are four-year award recipients. In addition, Buser was named a Scholar of Distinction for maintaining a GPA of 3.90 or higher. This is the second straight year that she has earned this honor.
