Field Hockey Wins Eighth Straight, Undefeated in Conference Play

Bethlehem, Pa., Brittany Meier (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa. / State College Area) scored her fifth goal of the season on a penalty stroke with 1:58 left to play to carry the Eagles over the Greyhounds at Moravian on Saturday.  Juniata is now 3-0 against conference rivals.

Juniata's defense had another strong game, relenting to yield a Moravian shot until the second half. Senior keeper Julianne Jones (Middleburg, Pa. / Midd-West) started the game in the cage and made two saves. Entering the day Jones was 6th in the nation in goals against with a .73 average and 1st in the nation in save percentage at .891. Shelby Miller (Pottstown, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts) also spent time in the cage for the Eagles and made two saves as well. Miller has made 40 saves and is 4-1.

The Eagles advance to 10-2 and 3-0 in Landmark Conference play. They will travel to Susquehanna on the 15th to play a conference game at 7 pm, before returning home next Saturday to host the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown.
