Huntingdon, PA. Juniata College field hockey won its second straight game, defeating last year's MAC conference champion Delaware Valley 3-1 at home Saturday afternoon. It was the second straight 3-1 win for the Eagles over the Rams as they also claimed last year's game by the same score. Juniata has now outscored Delaware Valley 18-4 in their last six matches.

Senior goalies Julianne Jones (Middleburg, Pa. / Midd-West) and Shelby Miller (Pottstown, Pa. / Owen J Roberts) spent a half between the pipes for Juniata. Jones saved three of four shots, allowing a goal to Delaware Valley's Cecelia Lousnberry twelve minutes into the match.

Juniata outshot the Aggies 23-12. The Eagles had plenty of chances early with nine of their fourteen corners occurring in the first half.

Brittany Meier (Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa. / State College Area) scored her first two goals of the season. Meier's first goal came on an assist from junior Cassie Clarence (Coopersburg, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) to put the Eagles ahead 2-1 in the first half. Earlier, Clarence scored her first goal of the season to tie the game for Juniata. Meier scored again in the final minute of regulation on her second penalty shot of the game.

Juniata moves to 4-2 on the season and plays again at home on Wednesday, as they battle the DeSales Bulldogs. Game time from Knox Stadium will be at 7 p.m.
