MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The Juniata College field hockey team fell to No. 7 Messiah 3-0 on the road Wednesday night after the Eagles could not rebound from a flurry of second half goals from Messiah.  Juniata (3-2) held the Falcons scoreless for over 40 minutes of game time before Messiah scored three quick goals in a five minute time span.

Senior Emma Dahmus (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and sophomore Allison Groft (Hanover, Pa./Southern Western) led with a team-high three shots each.  Dahmus was one of six Eagles to spend the full 70 minutes on the field.

Juniata is 0-5 against a ranked Falcons team since leaving the Middle Atlantic Conference and joining the Landmark Conference.

Juniata returns home this Saturday, Sept. 14 to take on No. 12 The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) at 3 p.m.  The programs have been meeting since 2010 with the Lions leading the all-time series 3-0.  TCNJ has been ranked top 20 every time the teams have faced each other.  Last year, the Eagles defense fought tough against a then No. 1 TCNJ team that put up 13 shots, allowing just three goals in a 3-0 loss.
