DALLAS, Pa. – Juniata College field hockey (3-1) dropped its first game of the season 1-0 in a tight battle with Kings (Pa.) Saturday afternoon.  The game was tied 0-0 until the Monarchs (2-1) scored in the 42nd minute off a deflection in front of the cage to earn the win.

The Eagles continually knocked on the door in the second half, earning five corners to King's four, including one after time expired in regulation.

"We played well together but didn't play well off each other today," said head coach Caroline Gillich.  "We just missed out on opportunities to score.  We've got a big week coming and we've got to refocus on executing."

Juniata travels to No. 8 Messiah on Wednesday, Sept. 11 before returning home to face No. 12 The College of New Jersey at home on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 3 p.m.
