HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Juniata College is pleased to announce Boris Gony as the football team's defensive backs coach.  

Gony most recently spent the spring as a tight ends coach at Whitworth University. Before Whitworth, he spent four years coaching for his alma mater, Southern Utah University, as a graduate assistant and volunteer student assistant. While a graduate assistant, he served as an assistant linebacker and safety coach. As a volunteer assistant, Gony worked with special teams in addition to linebackers.  

Before venturing stateside, Gony played in his native France with the Championnat Élite Division 1 squad Dauphins de Nice and regional-level team Besançon Bisons, playing as a safety, linebacker, and on the special teams unit. With the Besançon Bisons U19 squad in 2013, he advanced to the Northern Conference Semi-Finals. Gony began his coaching career with the Besançon Bisons as a co-defensive coordinator for the team during his second stint with the team in 2017-18.   

Gony holds a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in Management, Leadership, and Professional Communication as a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Marketing from Southern Utah.
