HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Juniata and Susquehanna will battle for which team will claim the Goalpost Trophy this Saturday as the two schools face each other in Selinsgrove. Kickoff from Amos Alonzo Stagg Field will be at 1:00 p.m.

This is the 78th meeting between the two teams with Susquehanna holding a 39-35-3 edge. In Goalpost games, the River Hawks lead 29-25-1. The first Goalpost game takes back to 1952.

The Eagles look to get to the .500 mark on the season with a win over SU. Juniata suffered a 42-30 setback to Moravian last Saturday at Knox Stadium. The Greyhounds put up 667 yards of total offense with quarterback Mike Hayes passing for 516 yards in the air. Eagle running back Matt Lehr ran for 125 yards on the ground for his third 100-yard rushing performance of the season. His three touchdowns represented a career-high. He also caught three balls for 52 yards. David Vidovic added 55 yards on nine carries and had two catches for 40 yards. He returned four kickoffs for 124 yards. Hank Coyne threw for 285 yards on 25-of-48 passing and tossed one touchdown pass. He was sacked and intercepted once. Kirby Breault grabbed six passes for 73 yards with Aaron O'Brien snagging six passes for 40 yards. Mitchell Shober led the defense with 15 tackles, which was a season-high.

Susquehanna dealt visiting Franklin & Marshall College just its second loss of the season with a 20-10 victory last week. There were several big plays in the game and one of the biggest was Danial Shelton's interception of Diplomat quarterback Zachary Bradley with just 5:33 left in regulation and the River Hawks up 20-10. Shelton picked Bradley off at the Susquehanna 16-yard line in what was Shelton's second of two picks on the day. In total, the River Hawks finished with four interceptions. SU struggled in the running game but put up 393 passing yards. Nick Crusco threw for 393 yards and one touchdown. Robert Marks led all receivers with 175 receiving yards and one touchdown on five receptions.  Chris Beals reeled in nine catches for 122 yards. The Diplomats were held to 139 yards on the ground and Bradley was picked off four times. For SU, David Simpson led the way with nine tackles while Cole Dixon added eight to go along with one pick. A.J. Willard picked up SU's lone sack of the day and Shelton had seven tackles to go along with the aforementioned two interceptions.

JC is looking for just its second win in Selinsgrove since 1980. In its last visit in 2014, Juniata won 44-35 on the strength of Ward Udinski's two touchdown passes and three touchdown runs. The Eagles are out for revenge this time as the River Hawks took the Goalpost last year in Huntingdon by the score of 24-17.
