HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Coming off a bye last Saturday, the Juniata football team returns to action to start the second half of its season this Saturday as the Eagles host Ursinus College. Kickoff from Knox Stadium will be at 12:00 p.m.

Juniata is 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the Centennial Conference. When the Eagles last took the field, they were defeated by Johns Hopkins 52-17. Juniata trailed the Blue Jays 14-10 early in the second quarter but Johns Hopkins would drop 31 points in that period on its way to victory at Homewood Field. Offensive leaders for the Eagles included Matt Lehr who had 19 carries for 119 yards and a touchdown in his first extended action of the season. Kirby Breault caught six passes for 116 yards for his fifth straight 100-yard receiving game. For the defense, Jake Diviney picked up 11 total tackles to lead JC. Ryan Bologa added six stops and scored his second touchdown of the season on a fumble recovery.

The Bears are 0-6 overall and 0-5 in the Centennial. In their last game, Kenny Kane's 23-yard field goal with 3:54 to play proved to be the game-winner for Moravian as it defeated Ursinus 33-32. Bears quarterback Sal Bello was 39-for-52 passing for 396 yards, shattering the previous school record of 30 completions in a single game. Carmen Fortino was on the receiving end of 12 of them, a career-high that matches the program mark accomplished twice by Jerry Rahill in 2013. Senior Robert Glanville and sophomore Brian Meilinger notched nine tackles each for Ursinus, with Rafter and freshman Jack Spingler chipping in eight in addition to their interception return touchdowns. Spingler's, an 8-yard scoring play, gave the Bears a 16-8 advantage late in the first half. It was the first time Ursinus returned two interceptions for scores since a 47-7 rout of TCNJ in the 2014 opener.

This will be the 22nd meeting between Juniata and Ursinus with the Eagles holding a 13-8 advantage in the series. Juniata won nine in a row from 1947 to 1978 before the Bears took six straight from 2007-2012.  The Eagles have won the last three games by a combined score of 87-34.
