Franklin and Marshall Comes to Huntingdon For Homecoming

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata football team looks to remain unbeaten this season as it takes on Franklin and Marshall this Saturday at Knox Stadium on Homecoming Weekend. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.

 

The Eagles are 3-0 and coming off a 41-35 victory over Gettysburg last week. It was Juniata's first win over the Bullets on their home field since 1979. Sophomore running back David Vidovic, in his first career start, ran 34 times for 172 yards and scored three times. He became the first JC running back since Craig Moshier had 38 carrries in 2003 and the first running back since Zach McCaulley in 2013 to score three touchdowns. Vidovic was named the Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Kirby Breault had his third straight 100-yard receiving game with 10 catches for 126 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side, the Eagles had four sacks, six tackles totaling losses of 28 yards, two interceptions, and four pass breakups. Joel Reighard led in total tackles with 10 and had an interception for the third straight game. He was named to the D3football Team of the Week. Mitchell Shober added eight total tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception.

 

The Diplomats are 2-1 and defeated Ursinus 34-12 last weekend at Sponaugle-Williamson Field. Franklin & Marshall scored 24 unanswered points to erase an early 9-0 deficit. Tanner Erisman ended the contest with a game-high 74 yards on 15 rushes with two touchdowns. He added another 108 through the air with 10 completions. Andrew DeStefano led the receivers with six catches for 75 yards. The defense was relentless all afternoon led by Luke Foukas with seven tackles, including three sacks. Joe Granahan finished with eight stops and recorded two tackles for a loss and one sack. Brendan Daly had five solo stops with one assist and Moffett ended the day with five stops, one pick, and one tackle for a loss. Steve Elf and Jon Naji both recorded half a sack.

 
 

This will be the 13th meeting between Juniata and Franklin and Marshall with the Diplomats holding a 11-1 advantage in the series. F&M has won the last nine games since Juniata joined the Centennial Conference in 2007. Juniata's lone victory occurred in 1986 in Huntingdon, 21-11. The Diplomats won last year in Lancaster, 24-7 and won the last meeting at Knox by the score of 35-33 in 2014.
